Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 With TaiG

The steps for jailbreaking iOS 8.1.2 using TaiG are near enough identical to how you jailbroke iOS 8.1.1 but the latest version of the TaiG PC jailbreak tool is now in English which makes things much easier.

Step 1 – Get your iOS 8.1.2 iPhone or iPad ready

The jailbreak will work on all iOS devices capable of running iOS 8.1.2. The jailbreak tool can also be used to jailbreak all earlier versions of iOS 8 which can currently be jailbroken.

Make sure the device is running iOS 8.1.2 by going to Settings > General > About > Version and making sure the version number of iOS installed is 8.1.2.

Before you connect your iDevice to your PC you must perform two tasks.

1 – Turn off any password or passcode locking the device or its screen

Go to Settings > Password > Turn off any password set.

2 – Turn off ‘Find My iPhone’ from within iCloud.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone > Tap to disable it.

Step 2 – Download the TaiG jailbreak tool

The TaiG jailbreak tool is now in English but it is still only on PC. You can get it from here.

Step 3 Run the TaiG jailbreak tool

After you have downloaded the jailbreak tool and unzipped it run the main EXE file and TaiG will open.

Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC and wait for TaiG to recognize it.

Make sure the second checkbox is NOT checked – only check the Cydia option so it looks like below.

Finally, click the big green button to start the jailbreak process and wait for it to complete – this may take some time.

When it reaches 99% your device will restart to complete the jailbreak process.

Once the device restarts you will see the Cydia icon proving that the jailbreak was successful.

Hi guys, would me awesome if you could provide a status server page, because it’s very annoying not knowing when a maintenance is on, or when the server has troubles. I haven’t had any updates since 16 hours ago and no response from the tickets or forums.

HI – we had to do an emergency upgrade of our systems as we had a large influx of new users. The file sizes that were being sent were also huge, which hogged connections and bandwidth. The upgrade is complete, and we have made some changes to the upload limits, which we will communicate soon. As you can imagine, our support department got hit by a Tsunami of Tickets, which meant that we were taking longer than 24 hours to reply. Anyways, the performance should be back to normal, and over the weekend, we are adding two more machines to the cluster. As ever, we know what a pain in the ass this is for our customers, so please accept our apologies.

Can I turn on the passcode after jailbreaking and installation of flexispy?

    1. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

      Hello Trimmer.

After succesfully jailbreaking the TARGET device it is fine to turn on features such as Find my iPhone or iCloud or to password protect the device.

      Thanks for contacting us.

When will Taig or Pangu have a jb for iPhone 5, version 8.1.2 on the Mac without having to download windows to my Mac? And when apple patches 8.1.2, does that mean I can no longer Jb my iPhone n have to wait for 8.1.3? Sorry so many questions!

    1. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

      Hello Susan.

You can review the jailbreak techniques and software at the link below. Unfortunately not all jailbreak tools for every iOS version is for Mac. However all of them are for PC. If you wish to update the iOS on the TARGET device through iTunes to 8.1.2 then, after having done that you would need a PC to then jailbreak the iOS 8.1.2 device.

You can install Windows on the Mac and then run that to run the jailbreak tool to jailbreak the iOS 8.1.2 device and that is your only choice if you are a Mac user at this time. We are not responsible for the tools used to jailbreak devices and right now they are for the PC and not the Mac, unless you install Windows on to the Mac as we have said.

When Apple release a new version of iOS sometimes you can still jailbreak the latest version and other times (more often than not) the latest iOS version patches the jailbreak so jailbreaking is not possible until someone releases a jailbreaking tool for that particular iOS version. This is what happened with iOS 8.x, Apple released it, it stopped you from jailbreaking, a jailbreak tool was released, Apple updated iOS again and the process repeated itself up until now when the only way to jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 devices is using a PC.

      We hope this helps.

Can you please provide a link as to how I install windows onto my Mac and then jailbreak? Also, would I be jailbreaking through windows or through Mac if my computer is a Mac using a window download for the Mac? Which jb do I follow-window or Mac?

          Hello Susan.

I recently uninstalled flexiSpy using the and the Cydia icon was visible on the target phone which created suspicion. How could have this been prevented?
    Please advise.

I initially installed flexiSpy with the Cydia icon hidden.

    Cheers ,
    K

      Hi Endorphins,

      Thanks for your suggestion.
In the next version of FlexiSPY there will be a dialog that notifies you that the Cydia Icon will be shown again when FlexiSPY is un-installed.

        Hi,
When is this next version of FlexiSpy be available to hide the Cydia icon when uninstalling? Please advise.
        Thanks,
        Kathy

        1. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

          Hi Kathy,

This is technically impossible. FlexiSPY itself hides the Cydia icon, so when you uninstall FlexiSPY, the Cydia icon will then show.

We said that in the next version, there will be a notification that says something like “if you uninstall FlexiSPY, the Cydia icon will once again be shown.”

What you can do however, after uninstalling FlexiSPY is install a tool called SBSettings, which lets you hide certain apps, including the Cydia Icon.

We’d also like to let you know that FlexiSPY is a VERY lightweight application. When you are done using it, you don’t need to uninstall it from the phone, you can just deactivate it. This will keep the Cydia icon hidden.

            Hi,

Yes, but I wanted to uninstall the FlexiSpy app to reinstall it to another target phone. With the Cydia icon shown, it created suspicion that a spy app was installed which defeats the purpose of uninstalling and reinstalling on to another target phone. The use of SB settings should have been noted in your website to prevent this. Please advise.

SIM are being switched between two phones which is why I had to uninstall and reinstall between the two phones. However , the visibility of the Cydia icon created suspicion. Could I have deactivated one phone with the Cydia icon hidden then reinstall it to another phone with Cydia icon hidden as well?

Do I physically need the target phone to deactivate the FlexiSpy account? Please advise.

            Thanks,
            Kathy

          2. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

Yes, deactivating was all that was necessary. In an upcoming release, we’ll have a note shown when you click the “uninstall” that notifies the user that if you uninstall FlexiSPY, it can no longer hide the cydia icon.

You deactivate from your online dashboard.

            Hi

Can you kindly advise more about SB Settings to hide the cydia icon after uninstalling?

Also, if I jailbreak a phone that may have been discretely been jailbroken, how does this effect installation/uninstallation/deactivation?

Is the Cydia icon visible each time the target phone is restored via Itunes or Icloud?

            Thanks,

          4. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

            Hello Endorphins.

Once installed on a device SBSettings has the ability to hide Cydia. Inside SBSettings tap More > Hide icons and then choose Cydia from the list.

You cannot jailbreak a device that has already been jailbroken. The jailbreak tool will fail. If a device is restored Cydia is removed completely qnd the only way to get it back is to jailbreak again

The second target phone has a passcode on it.. If I were to bypass the passcode by using one of the YouTube tutorials ,, will I be able to install FlexiSpy ? ? Please advise.

        Thanks ,

        1. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

If you can get past the lock screen, then you can install the software.

Of course, please check on the legality of this, (depends on your local laws.)

Also, beware of any service that asks you to pay to bypass their lock-screen.

If the target phone updates it iOS from 8.1.1 to 8.1.2 will I have to jailbreaking the phone again and reinstall ? And will the Cydia icon be visible?

        Please advise .

        Thanks,
        Kathy

        1. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

          Hello Endorphins.

If the TARGET device updates iOS to 8.1.2 you will need to jailbreak the device again and then reinstall FlexiSPY and then use FlexiSPY to hide the Cydia icon.

          Thanks for contacting us.

    Hi

Is the cydia icon visible each time the phone is restored ?

The target phone may have already been discretely jailbroken with an older version of IOS-how will this effect on installation/uninstallation/deactivation? How do we check is that the phone has already been discretely jailbroken?

    Thanks,

    1. FlexiSPYBlog Avatar

      Hi Kathy,

In order to install FlexiSPY you have to open up the Cydia icon. So, if the phones been jailbroken before and the icon hidden via whatever program, it’d be impossible to install FlexiSPY without somehow unhiding the icon or restoring/re-jailbreaking the phone.

    (1) If using an iMac do I need to install VMware Fusion and Windows 7? Tried – very complicated and ended up with VM sitting on the Dock, and Windows outside of the VM on the top right application bar…

    (2) Can I go straight to apply Taig Jailbreak if I use my PC (i.e. not iMac)?

As the matter of fact, i’ve already have the iTunes and can sync with phone with that iTunes. Why is this happening? I can’t jailbreak if like this problem occurred. Tq

Only other solution is to uninstall iTunes completely and download version 11.4, install that and run Pangu again.
