If you are running iOS 8.3 – 8.4 and have been waiting for a jailbreak solution, then you are now in luck. The TaiG jailbreak team have, at last, released their tool to perform the jailbreak.
So, if you want to jailbreak your device, you can do so by following the steps that we have listed for you below.
You’ll notice that for now this Jailbreak is Windows only, but TaiG normally come out with a Mac version of the software a few days after releasing the windows version.
After the download has finished (right now it’s sitting at 75 mb, which chould take some time to download) drag the file to an easy to locate place, like your desktop.
Step 2.
On your iPhone or iPad, go to (Settings > Touch ID and Passcode > Turn Passcode Off)
Step 3.
Next you’ll need to turn off the ‘Find My iPhone’ feature. Follow these steps to do so:
go to (Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and turn Find My iPhone off)
Step 4.
The next step is to take your iPhone or iPad and plug it into your computer, then double click on the TaiG jailbreak file that you downloaded earlier (should be on your desktop), this will launch the jailbreak tool.
Step 5.
Uncheck the box that says “3k Assistant”, but leave the Cydia checkbox, checked. See the screenshot below to make sure it’s set up properly (note that the version number of the jailbreak tool as shown in the screenshot below may not be your version number of the tool, that’s fine.)
Step 6.
Click the teal colored start button at the bottom and wait for the process to be completed.
After a while, you’ll get a message saying that the jailbreak has been successful, then the application will close.
You can then verify that your iPhone or iPad is actually jailbroken by looking for the jailbreak icon which should be on your device.
Once you have seen the Cydia icon, it means that you have successfully jailbroken the device.
If you need any help with this process, please leave a comment in the comments section below, where we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
In one of our recent articles on the FlexiSPY blog we explained how you could use a Mac to jailbreak an iOS 8.1.x device by installing Windows on it using virtual machine software called VMWare Fusion.
We understand though that this is not quite as easy as it sounds and this is why we have created a video, with thanks to the team at spyphonereview.

– Apple is no longer signing the IPSW file, so it’s no longer possible to Downgrade iOS 8.1.3 to 8.1.2
jan 29, 2015
– Article released.
Apple recently released iOS 8.1.3 to the public and, in the release notes, they thanked the Taig team for helping find several vulnerabilities that were patched in the iOS 8.1.3 release which means that as of right now, if your device is running iOS 8.1.3 it cannot be jailbroken.
Luckily however Apple are still signing the iOS 8.1.2 IPSW file which means you can downgrade the device back to iOS 8.1.2 and jailbreak it again to get the jailbreak back.
As of right now there are no Cydia tweaks that are compatible with iOS 8.1.2 that trick the phone in to thinking the version of iOS installed is the latest version so that it cannot be upgraded so if the device is upgraded you must downgrade first by following this guide to get your jailbreak back.
Disclaimer: FlexiSPY is not responsible for anything that goes wrong from following this guide. All steps were correct at the time of writing. You do this at your own risk.
This will DELETE ALL DATA on the device so please backup in iTunes before proceeding.
And here is how to do it.
Find the device number and download the correct IPSW file
You need to make sure you download the correct firmware for your particular device.
To do this simply look on the back of the device as the picture shows to find your model number (our picture is an example).
Now that you know the model number you need to download the correct IPSW file from here.
Save the downloaded file to an easy location such as your desktop.
Confirm that the iOS 8.1.2 IPSW file is still signed by Apple
In order to downgrade to iOS 8.1.2 successfully you have to make sure that the iOS 8.1.2 file for your device is still being signed by Apple. Once Apple stop signing the iOS 8.1.2 IPSW file for your device YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE ANY LONGER!.
If you try to downgrade using an iOS 8.1.2 IPSW file that Apple no longer sign it will not work and CAN DAMAGE THE DEVICE.
To check the current sign status of your iOS 8.1.2 IPSW file click here
Restore the device
Connect the device to your PC or Mac using the USB cable.
Now that the device is connected to your PC or Mac do the following:
Open iTunes on your PC or Mac
Hold down the Alt key (Mac) or Shift key (PC) and click the Restore button within iTunes when your connected iPhone is displayed.
When asked, browse to the IPSW file you downloaded.
Wait for the device to restore itself.
Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 using a PC
Once the device has restored itself to iOS 8.1.2 you can the jailbreak it again using Taig.
PC users who wish to jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 can watch this video.
Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 using a Mac
For Mac users the steps are different.
First, you must install Windows 7 on to your Mac using VMWare Fusion. You can learn how to do this by watching the video below.
Once you have installed Windows on to your Mac follow these steps.
Download and install iTunes to your Windows 7 virtual machine
Now that you have installed Windows 7 in to the virtual machine as well as VMWare Tools VMWare Fusion should now boot in to Windows 7 and it will work exactly as Windows 7 would normally work on a PC.
Download and install iTunes to your Windows 7 virtual machine by getting it from here.
Download the jailbreak tool to your Windows 7 virtual machine
You now need to download the Taig PC jailbreaking tool which you can get from here.
Save the download to an easy to find location on your Windows 7 virtual machine, such as the desktop and extract it to its own folder.
Use your Windows 7 Virtual Machine and Taig to jailbreak the device
Simply connect the iOS device to your Mac and make sure it is shown inside your Windows 7 virtual environment.
Once it is shown run the Taig jailbreak you downloaded from above.
Follow the instructions that are shown within the Taig program to jailbreak the connected device.
You should now have downgraded your device from iOS 8.1.3 to 8.1.2 and jailbroken it using a PC or a Mac.
Thanks to Spy Phone Review for their jailbreak tutorials and videos that helped with this article.
The steps for jailbreaking iOS 8.1.2 using TaiG are near enough identical to how you jailbroke iOS 8.1.1 but the latest version of the TaiG PC jailbreak tool is now in English which makes things much easier.
Step 1 – Get your iOS 8.1.2 iPhone or iPad ready
The jailbreak will work on all iOS devices capable of running iOS 8.1.2. The jailbreak tool can also be used to jailbreak all earlier versions of iOS 8 which can currently be jailbroken.
Make sure the device is running iOS 8.1.2 by going to Settings > General > About > Version and making sure the version number of iOS installed is 8.1.2.
Before you connect your iDevice to your PC you must perform two tasks.
1 – Turn off any password or passcode locking the device or its screen
Go to Settings > Password > Turn off any password set.
2 – Turn off ‘Find My iPhone’ from within iCloud.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone > Tap to disable it.
Step 2 – Download the TaiG jailbreak tool
The TaiG jailbreak tool is now in English but it is still only on PC. You can get it from here.
Step 3 Run the TaiG jailbreak tool
After you have downloaded the jailbreak tool and unzipped it run the main EXE file and TaiG will open.
Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC and wait for TaiG to recognize it.
Make sure the second checkbox is NOT checked – only check the Cydia option so it looks like below.
Finally, click the big green button to start the jailbreak process and wait for it to complete – this may take some time.
When it reaches 99% your device will restart to complete the jailbreak process.
Once the device restarts you will see the Cydia icon proving that the jailbreak was successful.
You can now install and run FlexiSPY PREMIUM and EXTREME on any jailbroken iOS device running iOS 8.1.2
This exciting announcement comes just days after the iOS 8.1.2 jailbreak was released!
How can I get FlexiSPY on my iOS 8.1.2 device?
The first thing you need to do is jailbreak the device, we have a guide for that, which explains all the steps, that you can read, here All it takes is a few minutes and the TARGET device in your hand to jailbreak the device with help from access to a PC and you will be up and jailbroken in no time. After being jailbroken, the installation of FlexiSPY will be as simple as ever, so why not start enjoying FlexiSPY on your jailbroken iOS 8.1.2 device today!
iOS 8.1.2 is now out, and FlexiSPY is now compatible with iOS versions up to this current jailbreak, rendering this guide irrelevant. Here’s the guide for the latest jailbreak – https://blog.flexispy.com/jailbreak-ios-8-1-2-taig/
No sooner had iOS 8.1.1 been released did everyone start saying that it could no longer be used for jailbreaking because it killed the original Pangu jailbreak.
But that’s now changed with the release of an untethered iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak termed ‘TaiG’. This is not the same group as Pangu but it does hail from China which is why the entire installer is in Chinese. This is an untethered jailbreak so once it has been jailbroken you do not need to worry about losing the jailbreak unless (or until) Apple fix this when they release iOS 8.2.
Step 1 – Get your iOS 8.1.1 iPhone or iPad ready
The TaiG jailbreak will work for any iPhone 4S, 5. 5S. 5C or iPad (from 2nd Generation onwards) running iOS 8.x – 8.1.1 so it means you can also use this tool to jailbreak iOS 8.1 as well.
Note: Apple stopped signing the iOS 8.1. IPSW file on December 1st which means that if you upgrade to iOS 8.1.1 to perform this jailbreak you CANNOT downgrade back.
Make sure the device is running iOS 8.1.1 by going to Settings > General > About > Version and making sure the version number of iOS installed is 8.1.1.
At this time the program is in Chinese only and is only on PC. You can get it from here.
Step 3 Run the TaiG jailbreak tool
After you have downloaded the jailbreak tool and unzipped it run the main EXE file and TaiG will open.
Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC and wait for TaiG to recognize it.
Make sure you have disabled any passwords and the ‘Find My iPhone’ option as detailed in step 1.
Tap the Cydia icon to set up the Cydia filesystem (your device may restart afterwards) to complete the Cydia setup process and your newly jailbroken iOS 8.1.1 device is ready to use.
We have to raise our hats to the TaiG team for giving us the ability to jailbreak iOS 8.1 so soon. But it could soom come to an end with the upcoming release of iOS 8.2.
Apple, having announced upcoming plans for 8.2 to developers, have apparently fixed the exploits used by TaiG in jailbreaking iOS 8.1.1 which means that, come the release of iOS 8.2 you might not be able to perform a jailbreak.
Here are the steps for keeping your 8.1.1 Jailbreak.
Upgrade to iOS 8.1.1 – Jailbreak it immediately
As soon as Apple releases a new iOS update they immediately stop signing the old version. What that means is that anyone who is not running iOS 8.1.1 right now will skip iOS 8.1.1 and move straight to iOS 8.2 if they restore or update their phone (e.g. from iOS 7.1.2 to 8.1.1). So upgrade to iOS 8.1.1 now and jailbreak it to be safe.
Prevent Future Updates – With No Update
You may also want to look at installing Cydia tweaks such as No Update.
You can install No Update by searching for it in the default list of Cydia sources as it is part of the ModMyi repository.
Once installed on the device it will disable the ability to get software update notifications on the device, however the target device can still be connected to iTunes and either restored or updated to iOS 8.1.1 from there.
If the iPhone you want to monitor has been upgraded to iOS 8.1.1 then you’ll need to downgrade back to 8.1 so that you can jailbreak.
Right now there is good news as Apple appears to be signing the iOS 8.1 firmware files (for now) which means that if you want to downgrade, you’ll need to do it now.
Things to note:
You’re only going to be able to downgrade if Apple is signing the iOS 8.1 firmware file.
It’s very important that you make a backup of your device to iCloud or using iTunes incase something goes wrong.
Apple doesn’t recommend that you downgrade your iOS device, so follow this guide at your own risk.
Download the respective iOS 8.1 firmware file for your device via the links below:
Open iTunes and select the device from the corner on the top right, to the left of the iTunes Store button.
Press and hold the Alt/Option key on the Mac or the Shift Key in Windows and click on the Check for Update option, instead of restoring.
The team at iphonehacks.com were able to successfully downgrade from iOS 8.1.1 to iOS 8.1 using this step, but if you’re wanting to go by the book then it’s reccomended that you use the Restore method, -it will be more time consuming-
Disclaimer: If you use the Restore method, then it will wipe the data from your device so make sure you have that backup we discussed before.
Downgrade iOS 8.1.1 using iTunes
Select the ipsw file you’ve downloaded from before
iTunes will give you a notice that it’s going to update your iOS device to iOS 8.1 and then the update will be verified with apple.
Update to iOS 8.1 using iTunes
Click on Update.
If everything works properly, iTunes will then downgrade your iOS device to iOS 8.1.
After a successful downgrade, the iOS device will restart. A notification saying “Slide to upgrade” should then appear. Enter the passcode, and then wait for the downgrade process to complete. You may be prompted to activate your device.
Done! You should now be successfully downgraded to iOS 8.1.
Let us know if you encountered any errors while following this guide, or if you were succesful!
The Pangu jailbreak team recently released their iOS 8.1 jailbreak tool and we documented how to use it here. The downside to it was that it did not install Cydia as we are used to, so it meant that you had to manually install Cydia yourself – which is something of a technical task.
The good news though is that with the 1.1 release of the Pangu iOS 8.1 jailbreak tool it now also includes Cydia so this means you can literally jailbreak any iOS device running iOS 8.1 with one click – here is how you do it.
Step 1- Download Pangu
Originally Pangu was in Chinese only but there is now an English version which you can download from here.
Once you have downloaded it save the file to your PC in a save place such as the desktop.
Once downloaded run the program file to start the jailbreak process.
Connect your device running iOS 8.1 to your PC and wait for it to be identified.
Click the Start Jailbreak button to start the jailbreak process follow the instructions that are displayed using your device itself when asked and wait for the jailbreak process to complete. Your device will reboot several times during this process.
Once it has been completed you will see both Cydia and a Pangu icon on your device.
To remove the Pangu icon do the following:
– Open Cydia
– Tap on the ‘Installed‘ option in the bottom bar.
– From the list of installed packages tap ‘Pangu loader for iOS‘.
– Tap Modify. – Tap Remove.
This will now remove the Pangu icon from your device leaving it in its brand new untethered jailbroken state.
For many people restoring an iPhone can mean hours of extra work restoring all installed applications, contacts and such but, most importantly, it means that the device needs to be jailbroken again. This is especially important when, say, an iPhone is restored and Apple wants it to be upgraded to an iOS version that cannot be jailbroken. How can you restore the said iPhone and keep the jailbreak? The following shows you how.
FlexiSPY is not responsible for any damages incurred as a result of following this guide. Restoring the iPhone by following this guide will delete all contents and settings so make sure you have backed up the iPhone first before proceeding. Following these steps from hereon out is done so entirely at your own risk.
What is needed to restore an iPhone and keep the jailbreak?
To restore an iPhone and keep the jailbreak you simply need the iPhone you wish to restore physically in your hand.
The iPhone must be jailbroken first, otherwise you cannot install the software mentioned below as it only works on a jailbroken device.
The iPhone can be jailbroken running iOS 6.x or 7.x (up to 7.1.2) the steps are entirely the same and the end result (of the iPhone being restored completely and remaining jailbroken is exactly the same.) Now that we know what is needed it’s time to get started!
Step 1 – Add the iLex R.A.T repository to Cydia
The program that magically allows us to restore any iPhone and keep the jailbreak is called iLex R.A.T. You will need to add this repository to Cydia to be able to then install the program and run it.
To do that please follow the steps below.
Open up Cydia on the jailbroken iPhone
Tap Sources.
Tap Edit.
Tap Add.
In the dialog box that appears type http://cydia.myrepospace.com/ilexinfo/ and then tap Add Source. Give the iPhone some time to update the Cydia source list.
Once the source has been added tap the new repository that has appeared.
Tap All Packages.
Tap iLex R.A.T. From the list.
Tap Install.
Wait for the program to install..
Step 2 – Install Mobile Terminal Emulator
In order to use the program once it has been installed you first need to install the mobile terminal emulator because all the commands are done by the command line. Mobile Terminal emulator is part of the standard Cydia BigBoss repository and you can install it by following these steps.
Open up Cydia on the jailbroken iPhone
Tap Sources.
Tapthe source called apt.thebigboss.org
Tap All Packages
Scroll down to Mobile Terminal Emulator and tap it.
Tap Install.
Wait for the program to install. Once it has been done the mobile terminal icon will appear on the iPhone springboard. Tap it to continue on to the final step.
Step 3 – Restore the iPhone and keep your jailbreak
With the mobile terminal emulator open, type the following and then press return after each command.
rat
The iLex R.A.T. program will then present you with a long list of options. We need option 12.
So type the following and press return.
12
You will be asked to confirm this so please do and then the restore process will start.
The process may take some time.
Once it has been done though, the iPhone will run the first use wizard (as it does when it has been completely factory reset) so you simply need to complete that again and, once the iPhone is ready for use, Cydia and the jailbreak will still be present and working.

We’ve temporarily disabled Snapchat tracking. This is because Snapchat have recently changed the way third party applications access their data. We are currently working on a fix and it will be announced when it’s available again.
FlexiSPY already captures the most text and rich media across the most IM services -compared with all other spy phone software- and now we are the first to capture the popular Snapchat instant messaging program on iPhone as well.
What is Snapchat?
Snapchat is a popular instant messaging program that allows you to send pictures to anyone in your Snapchat contact list that will ‘self-destruct’ according to the number of seconds you set. This means that once the other person has opened the picture you sent it will then disappear and no longer be visible on their phone.
Or so you both thought.
FlexiSPY will have already captured it.
This means that, with FlexiSPY, the Snapchat pictures that are disposable are not really that. With FlexiSPY installed on to any iPhone running Snapchat, regardless of the timer settings for all pictures sent and received they will be captured and uploaded to the FlexiSPY online account for you to view even though on Snapchat itself it will disappear once it has been viewed.
How does Snapchat work?
In order to show just how significant it is that FlexiSPY now captures Snapchat, and why you need it, let’s see it in action.
In the pictures below you can see a picture that we are going to send to the TARGET iPhone which has FlexiSPY installed on to it as well as Snapchat.
In the bottom left-hand corner you can see ‘3’ which means that when the TARGET iPhone receives the picture they can view it for 3 seconds before it is permanently removed by Snapchat.
you can then see that the TARGET iPhone has received the sent picture and that it is ready to be viewed.
A picture being sent to the TARGET device and received using Snapchat with a 3 second delay
All they have to do is tap to view the picture which will then be visible for 3 seconds.
Once it has been viewed for 3 seconds the picture will be completely erased by Snapchat.
However by that time FlexiSPY has already captured the picture and uploaded it to your online account so no matter how safe the TARGET thinks they are by using Snapchat FlexiSPY is always one step ahead.
Does FlexiSPY really capture Snapchat?
Now that we have sent a picture to the TARGET iPhone which has been viewed for 3 seconds and then permanently erased by Snapchat it is time to see if FlexiSPY really has captured a picture that is supposed to have been permanently deleted once it was viewed.
Simply log in to your FlexiSPY online account and choose Messages > IM> Snapchat to view the captured Snapchat data.
You can see in the picture here that the Snapchat information has been successfully captured.
FlexiSPY is the only spyphone software for iPhone to capture Snapchat.
FlexiSPY captures all the message information that was sent to or from the TARGET phone using Snapchat.
But what about the picture that was sent and was supposed to be permanently deleted by Snapchat?
You can see in the following screenshot on that the picture that was received by the TARGET phone which was supposed to have been deleted by Snapchat after being viewed for 3 seconds has been captured successfully and uploaded to the FlexiSPY online account.
Only FlexiSPY gives you what Snapchat tries to hide.
Snapchat pictures no longer remain deleted with FlexiSPY.
At the time of writing this article FlexiSPY only captures Snapchat on iPhone but an Android version is planned for release soon.

There is nothing worse than installing spy software on to an iPhone that advertises itself as being hidden, only to find out later that the software was not as hidden as it should be, and the iPhone user found it.
This article will show you how FlexiSPY has been designed to be completely hidden once you have installed it on to an iPhone.
An iPhone has two main areas that can lead to being discovered if the spy phone software is not hidden as advertised.
The first is that an iPhone must be jailbroken before you can install any spy phone software on to it.
What does this mean?
Jailbreaking an iPhone gives you access to far more configuration options and allows you to install a greater range of software, including any iPhone spy software.
But it also means that after you have jailbroken the phone a new icon will appear for the Cydia program, the iPhone user will see this icon and know that something on their phone has changed.
They can then open Cydia and see if anything unfamiliar has been installed.
Anything that they see which is unfamiliar to them they can easily remove in a single tap, this includes the spy phone software you just installed.
That is why FlexiSPY is not visible in the two main areas that we have already discussed.
How does FlexiSPY do this?
First FlexiSPY removes all traces of itself from inside Cydia.
The iPhone user will not see that anything unfamiliar or new has been installed, if the iPhone was already jailbroken.
Secondly, FlexiSPY also hides the Cydia icon after it has been installed.
Now that FlexiSPY has hidden Cydia the iPhone user will never know that it had been jailbroken or that any iPhone spy software has been installed
So if you want serious iPhone spy software that really cannot be found after installation then FlexiSPY has you covered.
Included in our iPhone Tracking Software is the ability to monitor their phone surroundings using our Ambient Recording feature. In the following guide you’ll see the steps needed to do so. Let’s get started.
Getting Started
Step 1 – Click the Control Centre tab and then click Call Controls.
Step 2 – ClickStart Ambient Recording, then Click and drag the slider to set the duration of recording (from 5 minutes up to 60 minutes only).
Step 3 – ClickStart Ambient Recording Now.
