    This guide will show you how to root the popular ZTE Grand Max phone.

    What is needed to root the ZTE ZMax?

    In order to root the ZTE ZMax you will need the following.

    • The ZTE ZMax you want to root in your hand.
    • A PC.

    Step 1 – Download and install Framaroot on to the ZTE ZMax

    Rooting the phone is done using Framaroot which you can get from here.  Save the file to your computer in an easy to find location on your PC

    Step 2 – Copy Framaroot on to the ZTE ZMax

    You now need to copy Framaroot on to the phone which is done as follows:

    • Connect the ZTE ZMax to your PC
    • Copy the file you downloaded in step 1 on to the phone in an easy to find location such as the Downloads folder.

    Step 3 – Root the phone

    You can now install Framaroot on the phone and root it.  This is done by doing the following:

    • Disconnect the ZTE ZMax from your PC.
    • On the phone browse to the download folder and run Framaroot (you may need to install a file manager from the Play Store to do this; enable installation of unknown sources if asked).
    • Install Framaroot on to the phone.
    • Run Framaroot and tap Install Superuser
    • Tap any of the listed exploits and wait for the rooting process to complete. (if one exploit fails to root the device, try the process again with another).
    • Reboot the device when asked.

    When the ZTE ZMax has rebooted look for the SuperSU icon which means that you have successfully rooted the phone.

  • How to root the Samsung Galaxy A8

    This guide will show you how to root the popular Samsung Galaxy A8 phone from Samsung.

    What is needed to root the Samsung Galaxy A8?

    In order to root the Samsung Galaxy A8 you will need the following.

    • The Samsung Galaxy A8 you want to root in your hand.
    • A PC.

    Step 1 – Download the USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy A8 for your PC

    In order for your PC to recognise the Samsung Galaxy A8 as part of the rooting process you first must download and install the USB drivers on to your PC.

    You can download the USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy A8 from here.

    Once you have downloaded them run the main program file to make sure the drivers are installed.

    Step 2 – Download the Odin rooting program

    In order to root the Samsung Galaxy A8 using the root file given in the next step you must first download Odin which is what will be used to install the root file on to the Samsung Galaxy A8 and perform the rooting process.

    You can download Odin from here.

    Once downloaded extract the file to a convenient location such as the desktop and extract it.

    Step 3 – Download the Samsung Galaxy A8 root package

    Now that we have installed the Samsung Galaxy A8 USB drivers and downloaded Odin we now need to download the root package to be used for the rooting process.  For this device we are flashing a custom kernel.

    PLEASE BACKUP THE DEVICE FIRST.  YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

    You can download the Samsung Galaxy A8 root kernel from here.  When you have downloaded it save it to an easy to find location such as your desktop and extract it to get a .TAR file.

    Step 4 – Enable USB debugging and OEM Unlock on the Samsung Galaxy A8

    In order for your PC to recognise the Samsung Galaxy A8 when you plug it in to perform rooting you must first enable USB debugging on the phone itself.  This is done by doing the following.

    1. Tap the Settings option.
    2. Tap the About Phone option.
    3. Keep tapping the Build Number option (seven times) until it says you are a developer.
    4. Tap the new Developer Options menu that appears.
    5. Make sure that the USB Debugging option is checked.
    6. Make sure that the OEM unlocking option is checked.

    Step 5 – Root the Samsung Galaxy A8

    Now that we have all we need it is time to root the Samsung Galaxy A8.  Before we can do that you must first put the Samsung Galaxy A8 in to Download mode which can be done using the following steps.

    1. Make sure the Samsung Galaxy A8 is powered off completely.
    2. Hold down the Volume down key and the Home key and the power button and keep all three buttons pressed until the Samsung Galaxy A8 powers up.
    3. Providing you have done it correctly it should boot in to Download mode and you press the Volume up key to start Download mode.
    4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy A8 now to your PC.
    5. Run the Odin software you downloaded in step 2.
    6. Inside Odin click the AP option and browse on your computer to the .TAR root kernel file you downloaded and extracted in step 4.
    7. Inside Odin click Start to begin the root process.

    The process will take a few moments after which the Samsung Galaxy A8 will restart itself and complete the rooting process – Do not remove the Samsung Galaxy A8 from your PC during this time.

    Once the Samsung Galaxy A8 starts up properly simply go to the Play Store and search for and install SuperSU.

    Once installed, tap SuperSU for it run and perform some first time tasks and then, once completed, the device should be rooted.

    This guide will show you how to root the popular LG Nexus 4 phone from LG.

    What is needed to root the LG Nexus 4?

    In order to root the LG Nexus 4you will need the following.

    • The LG Nexus 4 you want to root in your hand.
    • A PC.

    Step 1 – Set up the Android SDK environment on your PC

    Before you can run the rooting tools on your PC to root the Eye you must first set up the Android development environment correctly.

    In order to use Fastboot to root the LG Nexus 4 you must have the Android SDK downloaded and installed on to your computer.

    You can download the SDK from here.

    Step 2 – Download the LG Nexus 4 custom recovery

    In order to root the phone you simply download a root file to your PC which you can get here.  Once downloaded save it and extract it to an easy to access location on your PC such as the desktop.

    Step 3 – Download SuperSU

    Connect the LG Nexus 4 to your computer and download the SuperSU APK file from here and save it to your computer desktop.  Once saved on your computer, copy it to the connected device.

    Step 4 – Boot the LG Nexus 4 into Fastboot mode

    In order to run the root file you must boot the LG Nexus 4 in to bootloader mode which is done as follows:

    1. Make sure the LG Nexus 4 is turned off completely.
    2. Hold down the volume down key, volume up key and the power button until the phone starts up and you see green text and then connect it to your PC.

    Step 5 – Flash the custom recovery to the LG Nexus 4

    With the phone in Fastboot mode and it being connected to the PC do the following:

    • On your PC navigate to where you installed the Android SDK to from step 1 and go into the Platform-Tools folder where you will see exe.
    • Hold down the shift key and right-click in the window and choose Open Command Window Here
    • In the command window that appears type fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-mako.img and press Enter to flash the custom recovery file from step 2 to the device. When that has completed disconnect the device from your computer.

    Step 6 – Root the LG Nexus 4

    You now need to put the LG Nexus 4 in custom recovery mode.

    1. Make sure the LG Nexus 4 is turned off completely.
    2. Hold down the volume down key, volume up key and the power button until the phone starts up and you see start highlighted.
    3. Select Recovery from the list using the volume down key and press the power button to confirm.
    4. When the device boots in to recovery mode choose Install and browse to the SuperSU zip file you copied to the device in step 3.
    5. Once that has been flashed successfully restart the device.

    You should now see SuperSU is installed as a new application which means that the LG Nexus 4 is now rooted.

    This guide will show you how to root the Kyocera Duraforce phone.

    What do you need to root the Kyocera Duraforce?

    In order to root the Kyocera Duraforce you will need the following:

    • The Kyocera Duraforce you wish to root in your hand

    Step 1 – Download the rooting APK file to your computer

    To root this phone you must first download the Super-Root APK file from here.

    When you download it save it to your computers desktop.

    Step 2 – Connect the Kyocera Duraforce to your computer

    Connect the device to your computer.

    Step 3 – Copy the root APK file to the Kyocera Duraforce

    Copy the APK file you downloaded to your computer in step 1 to the device and then disconnect the device from the computer when done.

    Step 4 – Enable installation from unknown sources on the Kyocera Duraforce

    On the device itself go to Menu > Settings > Security and make sure the Unknown Sources is checked.

    Step 5 – Run the root APK file

    On the device browse to where you saved the root APK file to using the File Manager application and then run it.

    Step 6 – Root the Kyocera Duraforce

    From the drop-down menu choose to install SuperSU and tap the exploit listed and wait for the device to be rooted.

    Once the process is complete reboot the Kyocera Duraforce and you should then see SuperSU which means the device has been successfully rooted.

    This guide will show you how to root the HTC Eye Android phone.

    What is needed to root the HTC Eye?

    In order to root the HTC Eye you will need the following.

    • The HTC Eye you wish to root
    • A PC

    Step 1 – Set up the Android SDK environment on your PC

    Before you can run the rooting tools on your PC to root the Eye you must first set up the Android development environment correctly.

    In order to use Fastboot to root the HTC Eye you must have the Android SDK downloaded and installed on to your computer.

    Step 2 – Unlock the bootloader of the HTC Eye

    In order to root the phone you first must unlock the bootloader of the HTC Eye

    To do this you need to visit the HTC website which is located here.  Follow the steps to unlock the bootloader and, when you have done that successfully please proceed to the next step.

    Step 3 – Download the HTC Eye custom recovery

    In order to root the phone you simply download a root file to your PC which you can get here.  Once downloaded save it and extract it to an easy to access location on your PC such as the desktop.

    Step 4 – Download SuperSU

    Connect the HTC Eye to your computer and download the SuperSU APK file from here and save it to your computer desktop.  Once saved on your computer, copy it to the connected device.

    Step 5 – Boot the HTC Eye into Fastboot mode

    In order to run the root file you must boot the HTC Eye in to bootloader mode which is done as follows:

    1. Make sure the HTC Eye is turned off completely.
    2. Hold down the volume down key and the power button until the phone starts up and it will be in bootloader mode. Use the Volume Up and Volume down buttons to select Fastboot and press the Power button to confirm
    3. When the phone is in Fastboot mode connect it to your PC.

    Step 6 – Flash the custom recovery to the HTC Eye

    With the phone in Fastboot mode and it being connected to the PC do the following:

    • On your PC navigate to where you installed the Android SDK to from step 1 and go into the Platform-Tools folder where you will see exe.
    • Hold down the shift key and right-click in the window and choose Open Command Window Here
    • In the command window that appears type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press Enter to flash the custom recovery file from step 3 to the device. When that has completed disconnect the device from your computer.

    Step 7 – Root the HTC Eye

    You now need to put the HTC Eye in custom recovery mode.

    1. Make sure the HTC Eye is turned off completely.
    2. Hold down the volume down key and the power button until the phone starts up and it will be in bootloader mode. Use the Volume Up and Volume down buttons to select Recovery and press the Power button to confirm
    3. When the device boots in to recovery mode choose Install and browse to the SuperSU zip file you copied to the device in step 4.
    4. Once that has been flashed successfully restart the device.

    You should now see SuperSU is installed as a new application which means that the HTC Eye is now rooted.

    This guide will show you how to root the popular Samsung Galaxy E7 phone from Samsung.

    What is needed to root the Samsung Galaxy E7?

    In order to root the Samsung Galaxy E7 you will need the following.

    • The Samsung Galaxy E7 you want to root in your hand.
    • A PC.

    Step 1 – Download the USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy E7 for your PC

    In order for your PC to recognise the Samsung Galaxy E7 as part of the rooting process you first must download and install the USB drivers on to your PC.

    You can download the USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy E7 from here.

    Once you have downloaded them run the main program file to make sure the drivers are installed.

    Step 2 – Download the Odin rooting program

    In order to root the Samsung Galaxy E7 using the root file given in the next step you must first download Odin which is what will be used to install the root file on to the Samsung Galaxy E7 and perform the rooting process.

    Once downloaded extract the file to a convenient location such as the desktop.

    Step 3 – Download the Samsung Galaxy E7 root file

    Now that we have installed the Samsung Galaxy S4 USB drivers and downloaded Odin we now need to download the root package to be used for the rooting process.

    You will have two files.  A step 1 file and a step 2 file.

    Step 4 – Enable USB debugging on the Samsung Galaxy E7

    In order for your PC to recognise the Samsung Galaxy E7 when you plug it in to perform rooting you must first enable USB debugging on the phone itself.  This is done by doing the following.

    1. Tap the Settings option.
    2. Tap the About Phone option.
    3. Keep tapping the Build Number option (seven times) until it says you are a developer.
    4. Tap the new Developer Options menu that appears.
    5. Make sure that the USB Debugging option is checked.

    Step 5 – Root the Samsung Galaxy E7

    Now that we have all we need it is time to root the Samsung Galaxy E7.  Before we can do that you must first put the Samsung Galaxy E7 in to Download mode which can be done using the following steps.

    1. Make sure the Samsung Galaxy E7 is powered off completely.
    2. Hold down the Volume down key and the Home key and the power button and keep all three buttons pressed until the Samsung Galaxy E7 powers up.
    3. Providing you have done it correctly it should boot in to Download mode and you press the Volume up key to start Download mode.
    4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy E7 now to your PC.
    5. Run the Odin software you downloaded in step 4.
    6. Inside Odin click the AP option and browse on your computer to the step 1 tar root file you extracted in step 4.
    7. Inside Odin click Start to begin the root process.

    The process will take a few moments after which the Samsung Galaxy E7 will restart itself and complete the rooting process – Do not remove the Samsung Galaxy E7 from your PC during this time.

    Once the device reboots the Samsung Galaxy E7 should then be rooted.

    Now that we have all we need it is time to root the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009). Before we can do that you must first put the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009)in to Download mode which can be done using the following steps.

    1. Make sure the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009) is powered off completely.
    2. Hold down the Volume down key and the Home key and the power button and keep all three buttons pressed until the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009) powers up.
    3. Providing you have done it correctly it should boot in to Download mode and you press the Volume up key to start Download mode.
    4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009) now to your PC.
    5. Run the Odin software you downloaded in step 2.
    6. Inside Odin click the PDA option and browse on your computer to the root file you extracted in step 2.
    7. Inside Odin click Start to begin the root process.

    The process will take a few moments after which the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009) will restart itself and complete the rooting process – Do not remove the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009)from your PC during this time.

    Once the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009) starts up properly simply go to Apps and look for the SuperSU icon that should now be present. If you can see this icon it means that the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7009) has been successfully rooted.

    What is needed to root the Droid Razr M?

    In order to root the Droid Razr M you will need the following.

    In order for your PC to recognize the Droid Razr Mas part of the rooting process you first must download and install the USB drivers on to your PC.

    Go to Settings> Developer options on your phone and enable USB Debugging.

    Step 4 – Root the Droid Razr M

    Now that you have downloaded the root file to your PC and installed the USB drivers for the device and enabled USB debugging on the device it is time to root the device.

    Simply connect the device to your PC using the USB cable and tap OK on the device when prompted.

    On your PC browse to the folder from step 2 you extracted the root file to and run the install.bat file and then follow the steps that appear to root the device.

    Once the device is rooted it will reboot and you will now see the SuperSU icon which shows that the device has been successfully rooted and you can disconnect it from your PC.

    Step 4 – Root the Samsung Galaxy Young 2

    Now that we have all we need it is time to root the Samsung Galaxy Young 2. Before we can do that you must first put the Samsung Galaxy Young 2 into Download mode which can be done using the following steps.

    This Sony device can actually be rooted using the device itself. This means that you only need the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit that you wish to root in your hand, unlike other Android phones this phone can be rooted without needing a PC.

    Step 1 – Enable the installation of unknown sources

    Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit requires the use of the towelroot rooting software. This is software that you must download and run on the phone itself. Before you can do this however you need to enable the installation of unknown sources.

    On the phone itself go to Settings > Security and tap the Unknown Sources option (make sure it is checked).

    Step 2 – Download Root Master

    Now that you have enabled the installation of unknown sources it is time to root the phone by downloading Root Master.

    Step 2 – Copy the root package to the device

    Connect the device to your PC. Copy the root file you downloaded in step 1 to an easy to find location on the device such as the Downloads folder.

    Copy the custom recovery file you downloaded in step 1 to the device also.

    Step 3 – Install a custom recovery

    We now need to put it in to recovery mode.

    • Make sure the device is powered off completely
    • Hold down Volume Up + Home + Power together until the phone turns on again and boots in to recovery mode.

    Once the phone has booted in to recovery mode go to Install zip from SD card (External Storage).

    Browse to the custom recovery zip file you just copied to the phone and then install it and wait for it to finish.

    Once done go back to the main recovery menu and reboot the phone.

    Step 4 – Root the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit II (SGH-T679)

    Once the phone reboots completely turn it off and put it in to recovery mode again.

    This time, when you do so, the custom recovery should load that you downloaded in step 1.

    Once the phone has booted in to recovery mode go to Install zip from SD card (External Storage).

    This time browse to the root zip file you copied to the device and install it.

    Reboot the device when complete.

    When the device reboots you should see the SuperSU application meaning that you have successfully rooted the device.
