Sending Commands To Your Android Device With FlexiSPY

Sometimes you might want to change a capturing setting in the FlexiSPY control panel. Maybe you’d like to activate our Ambient Recording feature, or change what app’s you’re monitoring. Whatever the case, you’re given the option to choose the method that FlexiSPY will use to send the changes to the phone.

There are three ways to for sending commands to your Android device using FlexiSPY.

  1. Network (FREE, works on all mobiles)
  2. Push Notification (FREE, but not available on all mobiles)
  3. SMS commands (requires purchase of SMS credits, works on all mobiles)

SMS credits are an optional way to send commands to FlexiSPY. They are used within Control Center in your online account to make sure time sensitive commands are processed immediately (e.g. Send Immediate – to send all data not yet uploaded immediately to your online account.)

The default is push notifications, or network. But these are sometimes slow, and can take an hour to arrive – which is perfectly fine for most users.

SMS commands arrive instantly, and are appropriate for professional use, where timing is important. You can always send SMS commands from your own mobile device, so you don’t ever need to buy SMS credits.

But for those users who value convenience, and the best possible performance, we give them the option to buy credits directly from inside the account portal inside your account tab.

Let’s take a look at how push notifications work;

Everything takes place inside the Control Center in your online account.

Just browse to the category for the command you wish to set and set the options you want to change.

Click Sync Now when done and wait for the push notification to be sent to the Android TARGET device.

With the push notification sent to the device the changes will then be applied.

    where do you find the activation code to send sms from your phone? is it the same as the account number?

      Hello LCA.

      You can find your activation code by going to the Account menu inside your online account.

      If you have activated the software it will appear in the ACTIVE tab. If you have yet to activate the software it will appear in the INACTIVE tab.

      When you type SMS commands please remember to use exactly as shown.

    Hi I notice that the flexspy is not letting me log in. it is saying the server is down. or my login credentials are wrong. but they are correct so are you having problems

        There are a several inconsistencies that our developers are working out with the newest upcoming release of FlexiSPY for Android. So this will most likely fix the problem that you’re experiencing. (Although they couldn’t replicate your exact problem)

        Do you have multiple spy software running on the phone by chance?

          Hi, thanks for the reply.
          There is no multiple spy software running in the target phone.
          Do you mean there a new release/update will be out soon for Flexispy android? Would this new release automatically update itself on the target phone and fix this problem? Or do I need to have the physical target phone to do an update?

          Last, when will this update be coming? Any estimated timeframe? The target user seems unbearable with the constant crash of phone already… please help

            Hi Bruce,

            You won’t need to get the phone back in your hand to update FlexiSPY. We allow to to remotely do so.

            I’ve asked our developers to try and replicate the problem with the lagging. In the meantime they recommend you empty the cache of some of the more intensive apps such as your browser, any games that might be on the phone, etc..

            I’ll get back to you ASAP on an update, date if FlexiSPY is indeed causing the issues.

            if Flexispy is running only in limited mode, will Flexispy still be able to auto update itself on the target phone? or will auto update only work in Full mode ?

            Hi Bruce,

            FlexiSPY will need to be running in FULL mode in order for auto update to work. Unfortunately the only way to run the software in full mode is to deactivate – uninstall, and reinstall on the rooted phone.

            Once the steps are complete, you should be in full mode, though sometimes certain devices have been reported to not run in fullmode even if rooted.

    Does the text sent to activate ambient recording show up in the monitored phones received text?

      You can send commands to remotely control FlexiSPY using your own phone or from inside your online portal.

      As long as you type the remote SMS command correctly it will not be seen on the TARGET device. FlexiSPY also offers the online portal as a convenient way to send commands to the TARGET device – the choice is yours.

    the target phone is not respondinf it hasent been for two days now.Is there a way to see if the software has been removed from the target phone without having the target phone in my hand?

      Hello Bates4331.

      The last connected time within the Account menu of your online account tells you when the software last successfully connected to our servers to upload data and thus is still working.

      If the last connection time does not update and no data is uploaded then you can always try sending either remote SMS commands or using Control Center in your online account to force the software to connect to our servers and upload data again.

      However, if none of this works then there is no other way to check if the software is still installed and working without getting the TARGET device in hand to check.

    Call Recording NOT working! I had this in the targeted phone a few months back – work perfect every call was recorded – then its stopped working all together – you guys told me to uninstall and reinstall – I did that and its been 2 months and during this whole time it has recorded 2 calls that’s it! not sure what Iam doing wrong – you guys are never online for help so maybe this way you guys can help me!! Please let me know Iam in desperate need of this call recordings!!

        Do you have a contact person that I can talk to? I have sent them about 15 messages and they never respond, and they are never online ;-( It sucks bcz I paid a lot of money for this and everything works except for the call Recording – and that’s what I need to work!… Any advise would be great!

          In terms of call recording not working have you tried changing the audio input source that FlexiSPY uses to record calls from the TARGET device from inside your online account?

          Every Android device has four possible input sources that our software will try to use for recording calls and each one gives a different result so you have to choose the one that gives you the best result for you particular TARGET device as each one is unique.

          You can change the audio input source for call recording from inside Control Centre, using the Call Recording category. Simply try each of the input sources and see which one results in the best performance for you.

    Hi Zeg,

    Even though the device is rooted, the software has to be running in FULL mode to hide all remote SMS commands. If it is rooted running in Limited mode, or normal mode, in all likelihood they’ll be visible.
